Water rescue training
On 16-22 April 2023, a group of seven officers of the Independent Counter-Terrorist Police Unit in Bydgoszcz participated in the training “Mountain rivers, movement and rescue” as part of the project „Specialized training as an opportunity to increase effectiveness of law enforcement agencies in the fight against organised crime”.
The project has been financed with Norwegian Financial Mechanism`s means and a state budget within the programme „Internal Affairs”. The programme is under supervision of Interior and Administration Ministry.
The scope of the training included of the following issues: personal equipment used in water rescue, threats in flowing water, tactics of conducting rescue operations on rivers, movement in the water environment, techniques used in water rescue, rescue and self-rescue in small team in the field of operations on rivers, improvised and maneuvering, rescue operations on artificial and natural watercourses, canoe rescue with the use of a dinghy and handheld equipment, rope techniques used in rescue on rivers.
The classes were conducted at high level by instructors of the Regional Mountain Volunteer Rescue Service of the Podhale Group.
